Wish us luck! VBAC in labor!

My very dear friend whose EDD is tomorrow is in labor. She is trying for a VBAC, and our hospitals do not allow them, so she must be in a good labor pattern before we even step foot in the door. Her doc is on board granted everything goes as it should, but I would appreciate your labor vibes!

I do hope and pray your mom gets the successful VBAC she desires. I have a mom wanting to VBAC in the next two weeks, and her chances are slim to zero in this town. I am doing my second prenatal with her tonight and I am torn between realism and hopefulness.
Please let us know how this birth goes.

It was awesome!!!!!

I got to her house at 9 am. She had been laboring since about 3 am. Her mom is an OB nurse, and they agreed her mom would check her cervix, lol. A litle unorthodox, but whatever works! She told her doctor this, too, and her doc agreed it would be a good idea.

At 8 am she was fingertip; at 11 she was 3; and 1 she was 4. Her doctor said she wanted her to come in at 5 centimeters (this hospital has a no VBAC policiy, so you have to sign your life away, blah, blah, blah. The doc, though, is very open on a case-by-case basis).

Amanda felt like, even though she was at 4, she was ready to go to the hospital. We got her ready, and our check-in time was 2:40 pm. Imagine our surprise when a VE revealed she was 7-8!!!!!!!!

Baby girl was born with mom squatting next to the bed, doc on a footstool (looking like she was milking a cow from her position, lol) after 4 contractions. AMAZING!!!!! She was 8 pounds, 5 ounces. Time: 3:23 pm.

I have been blessed to be at 2 VBACs in the last 20 days. First one was at home in an Aquadoula; today's was a hospital birth.

Ronni, I am wishing your client luck and clarity -- the biggest thing I have seen is, Mom needs the support of someone she trusts (in this case, midwives and doctor).
