Intro.
Hi! Doula too!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, thanks and here it is. Not good at these message board things.
Hi! My name is Sabrina and I'm a wide variety of things. I'm an ALACE trained doula working towards certification. I've also taken the DONA training several years ago, but felt guilty because they don't want you to do anything medical at all and I believe if you have the training you should be able to. I have completed the requirements for becoming a Lamaze childbirth educator and am hoping to make the deadline to take the exam in April. I was amazed after doing my student teaching how much I loved teaching childbirth classes as talking in front of others makes me really nervous. I just passed the NARM exam and am officially a CPM(Certified Professional Midwife). I am also an RN and have worked in newborn and postpartum areas for several years. All that said, I don't work too much as primarily I am a homeschooling mother of one and have been married about 15 years, which the last 5 of those have been busy with my husband's heart health problems. Sorry this is so long.
Thanks,
Sabrina in NC

Welcome Sabrina! I know most of us doulas and birth junkies envy you SO much! I keep tossing the midwife idea around myself, but here in Alabama you're looking at lynch mob if you get caught. I think I'll wait til I move across the river to Columbus before I try to jump on that bandwagon. I know I should probably try to "convert" Alabama, but I just don't have the energy for that kind of controversy just now. Anyway, welcome to the board! Jump on in!

Welcome
Welcome Sabrina.
I missed this thread earlier. Welcome. I'm Kim, from Ontario. I'm not a Doula yet but I'm working on. My course is in June and I'm very excited. I look forward to seeing you around the board.
