Good morning, Ladies!

Just wanted to post a quick introduction to say hello! My name is Robyn and I live in Fitzwilliam, NH with my dh of almost 10 years, and 5 and 2.5 yr old daughters. I am certified with DONA and am about to start the process to become a certified Childbirth Educator through Cascade Christian Childbirth Assoc (hi Tashina - I came here after seeing your post recommending - thanks!). We have recently relocated; after revamping our child care yet again (2nd move in 3 yrs, but we do believe this will be it for the long haul!), I am finally ready to start my Doula practice. It's a very exciting time! I am sure I'll have lots that I want to bounce off all of you in these forums. I look forward to the exchanges! Any others from my neck of the woods here?

I'm Lori, and I'm a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula and a Lamaze Childbirth Educator in-training. I'm living in Ohio with my dh of 19 years and two teenage boys (my baby just turned 15!!...I can hardly believe it!).

I'm glad that you considered Tashina's recommendation and joined us! (I was glad to see her post about alldoulas.com at Christian Childbirth). We can all relax here at Alldoulas and just enjoy being doula-sisters. Alldoulas is a great place for learning, support, and laughter! I think that you'll love it here. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

(Just so everyone doesn't feel left out of a private comment - I 'met' Robyn on the Christian Childbirth group and heard about her homebirth when I was planning a homebirth for my son (who will be 2 in July - eek!) Hers was one of the first positive and affirming stories I had heard! Why oh why do women love to tell the terrible gory failed homebirth stories but not the nice gentle or fast homebirth stories too!))

(and one other fun little note of interest for everyone - we Robyns both received our DONA certifications within I think it was days of each other? So that (Ontario) Robyn always gave this (NH) Robyn a heads up of when she could expect her official certification announcement call, the DONA website listing, etc. )

That's right! I still get excited when I get to type the extra letters! I am working on my CAPPA CBE and PP Doula certs now - I think I am going to become a certification junkie! Ididn't graduate from university because I married a Canadian and moved to Canada instead of completing my degree - so exciting to finally have letters! R
