Hello from Michiana
My name is Stacia and I am a Michiana (Northern Indiana/Lower Michigan) Doula.
I first certified through DONA in 1996 and have worked in Ohio, New Mexico and North Dakota but let my certification laps when my 4th child was born with a birth defect. He is 100% now but with all the doctors appointments and travel we had to do for him I couldn't be there for clients during that time.
I just went though a DONA training again in Ohio and just need my 3 births to complete my certification. I have yet to find any clients being that we are fairly new to the area but I have a childbirth series at the local hosptial for the next 6 weeks and hopefully one of the couples would be interested in my services.
That's all for now. I hope to get to know you all and get in on some interesting chats.

 Neighbor!
I'm Lori, and I'm a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula and a Lamaze Childbirth Educator in-training (future LCCE) through Passion for Birth. I live in Central Ohio with my dh and two teenaged boys. You're not too far away!
I'm glad to "meet" you and happy that you've joined our group! I think you'll love it here; the ladies here are so supportive, knowledgable, and funny, too! Make yourself at home and jump in on any of the discussions or start a new thread if you'd like. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

Hi Erin! Yes, I know where Kalamazoo is. We almost moved there for my husband to attend college but he ended up at Notre Dame instead. You aren't that far away. Too far away to do backups for eachother though.
Thanks for the welcome.

Stacia, WELCOME!!!!! AllDoula's is the bomb! In my "oh so humble" opinion.
I am working on my birth and PP certifications through DONA as well. I've been doulaing for 6 years and originally trained with ALACE. My children were just to young and I was having dificulty meeting evweryone's needs. Kids, husband, mama's, etc...
Now the twins are in first grade and I've decided to get my certifications and plan to enroll in Midwifery school in January of next year.
Tiffany (the owner of this site) has tons of great info on All Doulas for us. check out the resources section. She also has free templates and forms and stuff.
Again - WELCOME!!!!!
