Lightbulb Re-Introducing myself

Hi all, I joined a while back, got busy with a bunch of other stuff going on and lost track. I saw Tiffany's email about the site being down and since I'm slowing down and learning to say no some (finally, lol) thought now would be a good time to come back.

My name is LeAnne, I am in western NC (the beautiful mountains) I'm a certified birth doula (DONA), trained childbirth educator (ICEA) and am working toward my lactation educator (CAPPA) and postpartum doula certifications (DONA) this year. I have 3 little ones who I homeschool and I do belly casting... I think that sums it up, lol.

It's good to be back, I'm looking forward to getting more involved as I'm working on these certifications to gain knowledge and support along the way. Blessings to you all, LeAnne~

Hi LeAnne, I've missed you! I wondered where you went off to. I'm so glad to see you back. We've had a nice amount of traffic lately with some great new members who have turned regulars.

Hope to see you around more often!

Talking Welcome back, LeAnne!

Yay! You're back! I promise, you have not been forgotten; it's good to see you again. We have gotten a lot of new members and regulars since you were last on. I'm glad that you've learned to finally say "no"...that is soooo hard, isn't it?! Don't get overwhelmed at all the fantastic threads, but just jump in wherever and/or start a new thread if you want! I hope to keep seeing you here!

Hi LeAnne!

Thank you for the reintroduction.

What part of NC are you in? I lived in Asheville for a year and LOVED it! If I decide to not go the midwifery route, I think we'll make that area our permanent home.

Awww, thank you guys I tried to get back on last night and my computer decided to be wonky

Lovin' all the new action! Yay

fearlessbirth, I live in Marion but spend most of my time in Asheville If you do go the midwifery route we'd still love to have you, especially in my area. We have a handful of wonderful MW's but only 1 CNM who will do homebirths in this area, the rest sadly are having to do them 'underground'... I think many move to be near areas that they can practice without all of the politics but we *need* more here.

Lanny...that is the ONLy reason I'm not in NC right now...the politics of midwifery. So sad. I used to be an activist in my younger days but now I just don't have the energy. Lol I wish I was 1/2 of who I am now and 1/2 of how I was cause I would tear it up with some 'legalize midwifery' action. Lol

Well....at least I know who you are, no matter what you go by! I don't think that the 'oldies' are confused, but I was thinking that some of the newer members might be? Although I'm partial to LeAnne (it' a pretty name!), Lanny is actually cute...it's just that I'm not used to calling you that! Who am I to talk, though?!.... Once I thought about it, I realized that I have THREE names, too!
Doula Lori.....Lori.......Lorisa
Just what I get for pointing out your names, huh?

Wonder if we should both come up with a 4th name to make it even more fun
