Greetings from the Ball State area

Hey Everyone,

My name is Jenni Shaver, CD(DONA). I am a mom to 4 wonderful children and pregnancy & childbirth is just such a integral part of my life. I love having doulas at my own births as I have personally benefited from labor support and I feel honored each and every time a family invites me to be at their birth. It is all a learning experience..leading me down the path and discovering so many new things all the time. This never gets boring, that is for sure. My husband and children probably know more about babies and birth than your average family practice doc. Okay..perhaps an exaggeration..but I am sure you get my drift.

I rediscovered this forum and it looks like a great place to network and learn.

Just wanted to say hi.

Hi Jenni,
I too am an Indiana Doula (Michiana). Where did you take your DONA training. I took my first one in Indy in 96.
I wish you well with your business!

I took my training in Anderson, IN. with M.O.M.S. (Ginger Breeck, Paula Miller, Rebecca Cartlidge)..this was in fall 2000. I am so thankful that I am able to educate and support families in this capacity..even if it isn't a ton, (because of my own pregnancies and births, etc), it is still such a great thing.

Jenni,
Ginger Breeck & Paula Miller taught my class in Indy in 1996. What wonderful women!

Yes, very helpful and kind. I think, a good start. I am glad that they offer the training because it has helped so many more women get into the doula scene.
