Hello from the ALACE office!

Hi Everyone,

I am the newest member of the ALACE administrative team, as I begun working at ALACE as the Workshop Coordinator in June. I love working here and being on the organizational side of doula work! I am trying to get networked into doula groups across the country, as I am a practicing doula myself and always love sharing information and support.

I was trained by ALACE prior to coming to work here in December 2004, so it hasn't even been a year yet! I have been to 4 births so far and am taking clients slowly but surely. I became a doula as the beginning of my path to midwifery and am currenlty contemplating whether I want to be trained as a homebirth midwife or CNM in the future. I am not ready to go to midwifery school yet, but in a few years, that's where I will be headed.

It's wonderful to see you here, someone who actually works for a certifying organization--that must be SO exciting!

Thanks for introducing yourself. I'm originally from Western Mass and worked in Cambridge at Akamai Technologies back in 00-01. Is the ALACE office anywhere near Technology Square? I used to love it over there. What a great city Boston is!
