Hi all my name is Bobbi, I am soon moving to NC, I am still a "student" birth doula almost finishing up, I am training with Childbirth International! I just wanted to pop on and say HI! I joined the other day! so far I am LOVING it here

Thanks for the welcome! So far everything is great! I am nervous about the whole transition from student to doula. Its hard up here in Central NY (I am about 40 miles north of syracuse) finding clients that are pg. But I am hoping by the time I move to NC I will have at least a birth done.) I have to finish this big huge paper (2500 words on Reflective practice before I can do my birth Evaluations) anyways enough rambling LOL

Bobbi... I have to drive through Syracuse on way to my parents house in Rhode Island (I am in Southwestern Ontario). About 6 weeks ago, we did the drive and got caught on the NY Thruway in a HUGE lightening storm. My dad said that those are common in Syracuse... do you get them?? Anyway, you being from around there reminded me of that and I thought I'd ask.

Hi again Tiffany yes we get storms here quite frequently just not so much this summer. this summer though was the hottest on record. 90's most of the summer very dry which usually means Nasty winter but we will be out of here before that Thank God!!!!!

I've been on vacation and just got home, so this welcome is a bit late. Btw...I used to live in Rome NY, then in North Syracuse back when dh was in the Air Force (stationed at Griffiss AFB in Rome 1990-1994...it's closed down now). We used to live at Hancock Field (military housing) in N. Syracuse and went to the car races in Fulton in the summer. I now live in Ohio and DO NOT miss up-state NY winters!!!!

It snows here in Ohio, but in the past 11 years, I have yet to have to buy a snow shovel...these people don't know what a snowstorm really is!!!

Anyway....just reminiscing a bit....welcome to the boards!!!

Yep that is cool Rome isn't all that far from here! I know exactly where Griffis is (they still do some stuff there not sure what though, Its military based just not sure what) I know North Syracuse well lol i have worked in syracuse in the past!
I won't miss the winters thats for sure (we are moving to Smithfield NC before the end of OCT
