Hello From Ohio...
Hi Everyone~
I'm a newbie here...  I live in Reynoldsburg, Ohio moved here over a year ago from Oklahoma. I'm just entering into the adventure of becoming a doula. I've done a lot of research on the profession & it looks wonderful. I'm married, have a 4 yr old son & a 14 yr old daughter from a prev marriage.
Anyway, wanted to hop in here & say Hello to everyone...

My name is Lori, and I'm a certified labor doula from Ohio!  I live between xxxxxx and xxxxxxxx. I'm happily married and have two teenage boys. I'm glad that you found us here; you'll  it!

I found this site last night after a few days of gathering research from various sites. I was so happy & excited to find this one.
Lori~
I've never been up that way yet. I'm in Reynoldsburg, east of Columbus.. I am somewhat familiar with Birthworkers of Central Ohio... I was on their site getting info.... It would be great meeting ya in person. Thankx again for the welcome.

My lil sister just found out that she's pregnant last Saturday night. 
Tho, I am quite worried about her. She just got married last month. My new BIL is the sweetest. The reason why I'm worried about her is that, he's in the Army & is being deployed next month. She just turned 23 & has NEVER been in this situation before. And this is her first baby!!!! |

Congratulations on expecting a new little niece or nephew!!  Does your little sister live near you? If so....she'll be very blessed to have you near!  If not, and you cannot be with her, she might be interested in Operation Special Delivery. Have you heard of them? Yep....maybe we could meet for lunch some day!! I'm in Columbus fairly often; my dh works over on Polarias. Let me know if you decide to try a Birthworkers meeting sometime. You don't have to be a member to attend. I've only been to one meeting so far, so we'd both be new!!  |

hi carrie, tot eh site..
congrats on becoiming an aunt, and i'll echo the above poster, if you cna't be with your sister when she births, i'd definately advise her to have someone caring that will come mother her while she starts her journey. |

Thankx.... Nope she's in Texas right now with her hubby. She'll be moving back to Oklahoma to stay with my mom while he's in Iraq. My mom wants me to fly back to help my sis with preparing for labor & delivery. I talked to my sis about everything & she wants me to help her prepare for labor, birth & postpartum. So, I'll be flying back to Oklahoma in June. My husband might be trying to take off to be with her too. We're very close.
Yep, I have Operarion Special Delivery in my favorites.
We'll have to met sometime... |
