Hello!

My name is Candice and I am a married SAHM to 3 children, ages 6.5, 5 and 4.5 months.. I am currently doing my reading on my required list to become a Doula. I'm so glad I found this forum! There isnt many of us around it seems! Anyways I had thought I wanted to go through DONA but I found CBI last night and that seems interesting too. Anyone been through CBI? Right now I'm doing the reading from DONA though, but if I change a few extra books can't hurt..

I should be taking my required childbirth class either end of this month or mid-Feb then all I have to do it wait until April for the workshop then I can start doing births! Anyways, its soooooo great to be here and I can't wait to jump in and get to know you all!

I'm sorry about the account activation thing, but I'm so glad we got it worked out and it's nice to see you post. How do you like having kids a year and a half apart?

I don't have any personal experience with CBI, I hope someone here can help you out with that. I enjoyed my DONA training when I took it a few years ago.

Is it a DONA workshop in April? I am sure you'll love it! Have you thought about how you'll get some clients after your training?

Well my first 2 are 20 months apart, totally unplanned, but I LOVE it! We had tried to ttc again when #2 was 9 months old and had some problems concieving so it took us 3 1/2 years to get our third child here..

We have a DONA workshop in april, in Raleigh (I am in NC) and I hope to contact them after I take the required childbirth class to sign up!

As far as getting clients, I'm not real sure! Thats one reason why I joined here, wanted to see what everyone else is doing to get clients...

I'm Lori, a Certified Labor Doula through CAPPA, living in Ohio. I'm happily married and have two teen boys (14 and 17).

I LOVE North Carolina!

We have some of dh's family there, and so visit the Hipoint/Greensboro area sometimes. I'm soooo glad that you have found us and have decided to join the group!

Thanks everyone for the welcome!!! Lori, I am about 20 mins from Greensboro!!! I am thankful that I am in a pretty good area, I have several hospitals within an hour or so drive.. Hopefully thats a plus in the future..

My name is Kelley....We have 4 kids--Sam (10), Haley (almost 8!), Anna (our angel in Heaven), and Elijah (2 1/2) We live in the cold state of Wisconsin!! It's snowing right now!!
