Wow, exciting, I encapsulated my last placenta, it would be great to see how it's "properly" done!

I seriously wish I'd done this with my babies. I still have a placenta in my freezer (way too late to do anything with it, though!) The program sounds like a good one. I'd have paid someone to do it for me. Thanks for the info!

The placenta is dried out and made into a powder and then put in pills (those gelcaps like some vitamins are in) so mom can take them to help PPD.

(that's my layman explanation)

Hmmmm.....definitely not my cup of tea. Thanks for the enlightenment. At least I can be somewhat intelligent if a mom asks me about it and I can mention it in my childbirth class.

yeah it's not everyone's cup of tea. Eating a piece of placenta can help with postpartum hemmorage as well as postpartum depression. But the idea of eating the placenta can really freak some people out, so I guess encapsulating it takes away some of the 'eewww' factor kwim?

The alternative is... synthetic foreign chemicals with risks.

Personnally, I atribute not having ppd with my last one cause I did it. It took me 3 weeks to actually do it . . . but when it was all done, I felt very in charge of me. I wish i had known about it for my other kids.

it's funny someone else brings this up.

I've actually been talking to Jodi about this for a week now. Were going to try and get as much training done before I move from Las Vegas... and I'll finish it from afar. I will love working with her and learning from her!
