Wink Matthew McConaughey is a smart man. :-)

He and his girlfriend planted the placenta from his son's birth under a tree.

If you go to the link above and click on the video of his interview with CNN about childbirth. I like that he was talking about her strength and their journey together through labor.

He rocks. I got goose bumps when I heard him talk about his girlfriend and her strength. I used to think he was a complete drip but now he rocks!

I love that they have no regrets too. That shows there was more to the birth than simply getting a baby. They gained more from the experience.

I've always liked matthew a lot. He's such a free spirit. No surprise that he'd want to do something like this. He's such a cool dude. I'm happy for them by the way, what happens to the placenta if the parents don't want it? Is it just thrown away?

I heard that it is sometimes used in beauty products but that could just be urban legend for all I know.

In our local hospitals it's treated like any other bodily tissue and sent to pathology for screening. . They don't tell you this up front of course, you just get a letter and a $300 bill from a doctor that you didn't know existed to tell you that your placenta did not have cancer, or any other pathological disease...

This totally makes up for the naked bongo fiasco.

Or maybe that didn't need to be made up for?
