This weekend one of my Hypnobabies students, who is also a doula client asked me if I would do her placenta because she is considering placenta encapsulation!
I've been learning about it for awhile (since my DD2 was born in 2006) and I'm really excited to just get started. I've been suprised at the number of inquires I've recieved from clients and midwives in the past month. It seems that I'm being drawn into it!
YAY!!! My sister asked me to encapsulate hers in December! I am excited!!!

congratulations! i tell all of my doula clients about my skill specialties, including placenta preparation. i offer it as a separate service w/ separate fees but over half of my clients do utilize my placenta services as well. i've even had several people hire someone else to be their doula but still hire me for placenta work. once you've done a couple placentas, i would definitely recommend writing up some information on your placenta services and start bringing it to the interview as well. even if they aren't interested in it, you have educated them about this option and you know they will talk to their friends about it. the word will spread.
vanessa, have you actively started promoting your services to clients and midwives in the area or does it seem like they are being led to you by fate? either way, that is pretty cool.

I don't technically have a service yet! LOL, I'm dong this first one for free, to try it out and gain experience.
Not marketing at all, it has just been coming up in coversations durng labor and after the birth when everyone is looking at the placenta. I always mention the healing benefits of the placenta to cliets and students prenatally and they've been bringing it up at the birth when we're looking at it. Then the midwife joined in both times to say how excited she was that I was thinking of offering that service!
I had two prospective students ask me about it this week.
I've been wondering "what next?" and the universe seems to be answering me!!!!

I do that too! In my intro pack I have a page that details all the other services I offer. Also, my midwife gives my name out for placenta encapsulation all the time!
very exciting!!! I agree that when you are excited about something you feel passionate about, others will naturally be drawn to that enthusiam and want to know more! When is this mom's EDD? You said free....is she purchasing the supplies?
