Question Dehydrator Size?

Dh told me to shop around and find the dehydrator I want. Honestly, he thought they'd be about twice the cost of what a good one is, so that was nice! I just don't know how large it needs to be. I'm looking at the excalibur brand because I like the ideea of the trays, but how big is too big? Do you need more than 4 trays for even a large placenta? (Like the monster you posted, Brie?)

Oh, also, what about the disposable tray liners? Do I need those?

i usually only use 3 trays but have had to use the fourth from time to time - never totally filled it though. i slice pretty thin - like deli thin - but the placenta will shrink significantly during steaming and you can arrange the slices very close together in the dehydrator.

worst case scenario, if i knew the placenta was going to make too much for my dehydrator, i would just put the "excess" portion in the fridge while the first round dried and then do the rest right away.

with the square trays on the excalibur, you could just use wax paper as a disposable liner. i've never used disposable liners with mine though.

Exactly...I was worried I was going to need the 9 tray or something and trying to budget between that, a new bassinet, and a new glider...well.. Ok, I'm excited again! Thanks, Rae!

The large placenta I had took up 3 trays. And I use tray liners with every placenta.
