so $300/yr, paid up front or the $29.95/monthly.... @ $250 per placenta (my charge), it only takes 2 a year to pay for it and the rest is profit.
So why pay the membership and not learn on your own? 100,000 website hits A MONTH. Unlike DONA (who will certify anyone and everyone asking to be certified) YOU will be the referral person for your area. If someone is looking for 'Placenta Encapsulation' on google PBi is the #1 & 2 result, plus theres a few other links below it. You will be found. And actually if you google search my name, my profile page on PBi comes up too.
This was my hesitation too. But I have placentas scheduled already for December, February '10 AND April '10.... and I know I'll get a few last minute phone calls in coming weeks.
And I know for a fact this was a reason AT LEAST 2 Doula Clients hired me and not someone else (I do offer a discount for doula+ placenta), so the residual income is there as well.
My final decision for doing PBi and not learning on my own was 1. Referrals from a well known source (search MDC boards, PBi is brought up in nearly every conversation and there is a lot) 2. Marketing & business image is already established 3. Release forms, Powerpoint Presentations and advertising materials are already written and ready for your use, just add your name and contact info.
Trust me. The demand is out there, especially if you do some foot work to make it known that the service exists in your community. We get requests all the time for people looking for someone to do this in areas where there is no one (My December client lives closer to Indiana, 3 hours away, and paying me extra for travel expenses)
