dried placena capsules for ppd
Does any one here know the instructions for drying, grinding and then encapsulating one's placenta? Someone once told me she did this after the birth of her second son. I think she got the idea from her mother-in-law who is Korean. She said she had really bad postpartum depression after the birth of her first son and then tried this for her second. She would take a tablet or two everyday after the birth, depending on how she felt. She said she had little to no ppd and attributes it to this. My understanding is all of the nutrients in the placenta help balance out everything that going on postpartum (how's that for a technical description?! ). I know a lot of mammals eat their placenta's (some of the human variety as well). Anyway, I was thinking of trying this, as I had ppd with the birth of my son (just turned two) and am due again in August. Honestly, I think I would try just about anything to avoid going through that again!
Thanks for any info anyone may have!
