The Associated Press
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Four women were arrested while protesting a
hospital's policies on breast-feeding, which the demonstrators said
undermines efforts of mothers who want to nurse their babies.
About 15 protesters, some holding signs and others nursing infants,
protested Friday outside Harrisburg Hospital. After being told they
were trespassing on private property, police arrested four who did not
leave.

This was us! I can't believe it made national news!
A group of concerned breastfeeding and birth advocates had scheduled a
protest for noon yesterday at Harrisburg Hospital to protest the fact
that they routinely separate newborns from their mothers
(often for extended periods, against the mothers' wishes)
and give out formula samples to breastfeeding mothers.
While all of the area hospitals still give out the samples,
Harrisburg is the only one where people have repeatedly had
problems with having their babies taken away to the nursery and not
brought back for hours at a time.
Dozens of people knew about the rally and were planning to come,
but
Those
of us (including myself) who arrived a few minutes late missed
the whole thing. By 12:15, the police had either chased away or
arrested everyone.
Two of the people arrested were moms wearing babies (the babies
were Handed off to other people) and one was a 14 year old boy.
We were stunned that the hospital would risk such bad publicity
as to do that! They were chargedwith trespassing, booked, and
released with a citation.
Many of us will be writing to Harrisburg Hospital (owned by
