Post Tap Water Chemicals Little Threat To Pregnant Women

Tap Water Chemicals Little Threat To Pregnant Women

Aug. 17 - New research suggests the chemicals in tap water pose little threat to pregnant women.

The chemicals in question are byproducts of the chlorination process used to kill disease-causing pathogens.

This latest study followed more than 3,000 pregnant women. It found no link between overall exposure to the byproducts and risk of miscarriage.

There was an increased risk of miscarriage among women with the highest exposure to one type of chemical.

The American Water Works Association Research Foundation published the report online.
