Only 1 Prenatal Appointment.

I am getting a client for my cert births. She is due very soon in like a week, and she wants me to be her doula. I want to try to have at least 1 prenatal with her. This is my first birth. What would you make sure to cover?

Thanks.

I don't really have a set 'curriculum' for my prenatals - I just go with the flow. I use my prenatals as a time to get to know my clients and find out what their thoughts about their birth are. Find out what she wants, any fears she has, if she's a multip what she liked & didn't like about prior births... Let her ask questions. hth

I would for sure help her write a birth plan right off the bat. This will help with discussions and make sure she is set to go for the birth and ready with her preferences. Congrats on the new client!
