Google calendar

anyone use google calendar to help coordinate doula prenatal/pp appts?

i've got a bunch of mamas due in dec/jan/feb, and my head is swimming w/ the holidays too, so i'm trying it out. i put my schedule on the calendar and then invited them to view, and send me convenient times for our appts.

I use google calendar all the time! Though I haven't ever thought to send it to clients. I tend to mix my business & personal calendars a bit. I tried to keep my business one in a separate colour, but became a bit slack. I don't have too many clients, so it's not an issue.

I also love the ability to see a month at a glance & see the blocked out areas for being on call. AND that I can easily change those blocks. I also love being able to send my reminders for my appointments to my mobile as SMS. Before a birth I go through my calendar and change reminders from email to SMS for the next couple of days.

Mmm ... I'm sure there's more.

Have you checked to make sure the settings are set to public? Hmm.

At this point I'm juggling a couple of my own midwifery clients in addition to my preceptor's client load but in the future I think I'd like to use Google Calendar more... it would be a good way to coordinate childcare, appts, etc.

you are a genius.

now i want to figure out how to do this rather than emailing back and forth 5 times just to pick a good time. one thing i like about the goog.cal. is that if a date shows up in an gmail, it offers me the option of putting what was mentioned in the email down on the cal.

i don't have it on public, i don't want it to come up in google searches. that just seems weird. instead i send an invite to select people and then they can see and edit it. it worked for one client, and she liked the convenience, so i think i'll keep trying.
