Anyone know about birth rates ~ evenings, weekends, holidays?

I am looking for something I read a while ago and cannot find. It shows how there are spikes in the birth rate in the early evenings, on Fridays, and on the days before holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. It shows how physicians' schedules and personal lives play a role in decisions about induction and cesarean birth.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? I have searched the internet high and low and am really frustrated that I cannot find it.

Thank you if you can help me! If you don't want to post it, please consider PMing me.

I know when I look at our Birth Records in our newspaper, the weekdays have several births per day and the weekends have none or 1-2. I can tell which days are weekends without looking at a calendar.

I think Marsden Wagner talks about this in Born in America.

Thank you, Andie. I have been meaning to read that book anyway!

I know this is something that has been studied. I found a few studies online. But at one point I saw a graph with spikes on Friday evenings and right before the major holidays. It was so great! I wish I could find it! It would be so much better to present than another study, ha ha ha.

Anyone seen it?
