My first birth was AWESOME!!!

I attended my first birth today and it was awesome and very short - 2 hours and 45 minutes with 8 minutes of pushing! Mom was a trooper and did a fantastic job. She chose to receive an epidural at 8 cm, but by the time it was in she was 10 cm and it was time to push - (epidural didn't work at all) - 4 pushes and baby was out! The baby was posterior and we tried to get him to turn, but he wanted to wait - he turned with her first push. Mom and Dad are very happy and I feel so honored to! have been a part of their birth.
While taking a potty break another client who I had a consult with called and said she wanted to hire me for January, yesterday another client hired me for her October birth, and after I got home a friend called and she knows someone who wants a doula in March, and I've got another maybe for February! I guess my ride is about to begin!!! I'm so glad because I was so upset after missing my first client's birth due to cell phone problems.
