So Proud

So some of you have read my story about the urgent c-section my friend had about a week ago. I left that feeling like I had let her down, feeling really terrible about the whole thing. But through it all there is a light!

During our pp visit we talked about how the pumping was going and I'm so proud of her. Not a DROP of formula has touched that little baby's lips since she's been home. Mamma was getting 5 ounces every time she pumped, has not experienced engorgement (I'm guessing because she's so diligent about the pumping) and the little booger is eating like a champ, putting away up to 2.5oz at every feed. Amazing. I was really concerned throughout her pregnancy that she was going to give up on the pumping because she thinks it's gross (this is why she didn't breastfeed). But I really believe that all the talking we did about the pumping, the fact that I got her the free pump, and taught her to use it, and we talked about all the benefits to her and baby have kept her at it despite the fact that she thinks it's ishy. I'm just so happy. I'm so glad something good came of this! After the c/s I was concerned she wouldn't pump, but she's been pumping since the first day in the hospital. YAY!
