Time to share

As the summer is lazily upon us and for many births have slowed due to traveling or kids out of school, however the fall season is right around the corner and a fresh start with the autumn air breathes new life. Tell us about something wonderful that has happened to you as a Doula (newspaper article, invited to speak, an unexpected gift).

Well, I haven't received an unexpected gift, but I got a call last week from a friend of a former (repeat) client. She is wondering if I am available for her November birth. Then, my client called a day later to see if her friend got in touch with me. The client said how she is always telling people what a great experience she had with her doula!

Even though someone tells you they were glad for your presence at their birth, a part of me is never REALLY sure. That this client recommended her friend to me speaks volumes.
It made my day!

I got invited to one of 'my baby's' second birthday party (last weekend)! Her Mom and I are now friends, and I love that I get to see her grow up!

ETA: Oh and I have my first repeat client due in January.

One of my clients named her baby after me. I'm still getting teary just thinking about it

I was invited by one of my clients to their daughters first birthday. I was so excited. They also brought me a Christmas gift. I was so honored. They live close by and like to keep me updated as to how things are going.

Not much happeneing here. I am winding down from insane summer of births and clients. I am looking forward to hopefully a breather soon. But then I have no clients booked past November......
