Hired by an RN
I have been referred by RNs to their friends a few times, but I have finally been hired by my first expectant RN! She is currently working at the hospital in pediatrics but is aspiring to work in L&D. I really like her and look forward to working with her! I just wanted to share a little bit of my excitement with you!

I was a doula for a med student and it was really something interesting to see her "switch" -- during contractions she was totally there with her labor and she could've been a sahm, a teacher, a firefighter for all anyone knew. But BETWEEN contractions she was talking to the staff in medical terms, it was really quite jarring!

my favorite were my medical malpractice attorney clients. Both were med mal lawyers and her mother was an internal medicine specialist at the hospital we delivered at and she was also at the birth. When mom was admitted in labor and asked to sign consents during her contractions she commented that she didn't know if she could ever ask a woman on the stand again if she "read the consents before she signed them." LOL Oh the power of active labor.
