Great compliment!

I got an evaluation back from my latest mom, and she said that she could see that I had established good relationships with the nurses at my local hospital and that really put her at ease I'm sure it helped that she got my favorite nurse, but it's nice to hear that people think I work well with others!

". . .there is a world of difference between compliance and commitment. The committed person brings an energy, passion, and excitement that cannot be generated if you are only compliant, even genuinely compliant. The committed person doesn't play by the 'rules of the game.' He is responsible for the game. If the rules of the game stand in the way of achieving the vision, he will find ways to change the rules. A group of people truly committed to a common vision is an awesome force. They can accomplish the seemingly impossible."

I am sure that is what it used to say on your report cards too, right? "Amy plays well with others".

No, that is awesome! I think it really puts our clients at ease when they see we have a good rapport with the staff. It is the knowledge that they may not have to fight for their rights to birth the way they want and they are surrounded by support (in all senses of the word). Keep up the great work Doula-mama!!

Very nice! People sometimes assume it will be adversarial between nurses and doulas. Good for you for proving them wrong.
