do your client's evals/testimonials make you teary eyed?

I always get teary reading them. I'm blessed with some very fantastic clients!

My most recent client was a 3rd time mom who had her first unmedicated birth! They gave me a lovely inspirational book that she, her husband and her mom wrote inscriptions in. She also just sent me a testimonial - this is what she wrote:

When Lia arrived at my house during my labor she quietly helped me get down to the business of birthing. Her presence helped me to remain calm and confident, while her knowledge in acupressure, birthing positions, and hypnobirthing kept me comfortable. She guided my mother and husband, providing them with instruction on how to help, where to touch, what kinds of things to say. She was an integral part of my birthing team, and I was blessed with a peaceful and strong birth. Even my midwife and nurses recognized her gift and welcomed her to their institution at any time.
Lia does not only support during birth, but is a great resource before and after. Lia was generous in the time she spent with us in her prenatal visit. She guided us in a birth art activity as well as covering all the bases in birthing options and helped us to prepare for early labor on our own. When we called Lia at 3 am she was quick to come over.
We were treated with a delicious post partum visit, beautiful pictures and gifts and advice on breastfeeding. She is a wonderful person and has found her niche as she helps bring babies into the world.

Yes, it's OK to get teary, because you are doing something from your heart ! Your clients are blessed to have you !

What a wonderful testimonial.
None of my clients have written any for me yet.

But I'm curious, what birth art activity did you do?

As far as getting testimonials, I give all my moms a review sheet to help me evaluate my services and it has an area for comments/testimonials.

The art activity was one I learned from taking the Birthing From Within online class on facilitating the birth art process. You can find it on the BFW website - I think they do a new class every couple of months.

I have had a few... but I am so uncomfortable shedding tears. I would say most of my clients are alot like me, and not super emotional. They will send a really card with a few nice sentiments and usually a Star Bucks or a Tims gift card tucked inside.

Not in a comment or testimonial yet, but one eval (for my certification) from the midwife had some sweet comments, as well as my most recent client did say to me once "Sometimes I wonder if I picked the right midwife, but I know I found the perfect doula!".
