Pie tin trick
I jsut wanted to share this littel trick with you guys. Today the baby was not moving at all, despite drinking lots,l lying on my left side. DD is very sick so I was really hoping to avoid a trip to the office....
I called up my doula (also a dear friend) and she suggested that I lie down, put an alluminum pie tin on my belly and drop my keys into it. Sounded weird, but I tried it and after the 5th key drop the baby started kicking like mad. I think I really pissed off baby and I am sure it didn't like the noise and being woken up.
Anyway, gave me the peace of mind that I needed and allowed me to stay at home and keep taking care of DD. Just thought it was a neat trick.

That worked well!
My DH would always place his mouth on my belly and blow real hard and the loud noise along with the vibrations would wake baby every time.

I have heard of putting a massager (an electric one) on the belly as well. They don't like th noise from that either.

That is exactly what DH said. I actually feel a little bit guilty about it, I know it must have been scary but I only did it after everything else failed. Can't wait to hit the teen years to get the payback for that one!

As a mom of teenagers... they will scare the crap out of you numerous times.. ( what?? You rolled your motorbike??, What..?? what do you mean you were driving around with boys??...)
Then they will laugh and tell you not to worry so much.
