Wow! I have to say, that is awesome! Once I get back into everything, I could definately see myself using that in childbirth education, especially to show presentations (explain posterior, etc.)!

I think that's very creative and a cost effective way to get yourself a mannequin. I have tons of catalogs of those things and they are really expensive.

Thumbs up

I really like that idea! Thanks for sharing, Stacie! Yes, I could see myself doing this. One question (just a petty one, really ) Why is the cord red? Shouldn't it be blue, or alternately, white marked with blue? The list said to use a red bungy cord. Told you it was petty!

I can see why EMS needed to be called for that birth. The baby's head's not very well flexed. LOLOL

That is a very creative idea. I'll have to keep it for future reference.

Wow, what a wonderful, cost-effective tool to use for childbirth classes!
You can demonstrate fetal positioning, and even things like cord prolapse etc.
I will definitely make one.. I'm also thinking of drawing the skull plates in black marker on the top of the baby-doll's head .
Thanks for sharing the link! I think I'm going to print it all out and mail it to the other local Childbirth Educators .

From another "picky" chicka; I like the umbilical cord show further down the page .
If you stick with a bungee cord, I think they make some that are sort of "plaid" with blue and white (then take a marker to it to enhance it a little LOL).

I say everyone who makes one of these because of this article should post a picture of their finished product! I'd love to see how they all turn out!

Oh I love that idea!!!! That is so neat. I think I am going to try to get my behind in gear and make one of these in a few weeks (right now life is insane with the kids end of the school year stuff and me needing to help Amber start prepping for college stuff - lots of days we have to go to the college to do meetings and the such - plus I am still in school LOL)
