"The Rope" labor tool

At the Midwifery Today conference a few years ago, Debra Pascali-Bonero demonstrated a tool she used for labor that I think was called "The Rope". It was an exercise tool that hooked over the top of a door, then you could hang onto the handles and squat while pulling and supporting your upper body. It was not stretchy. She said they were about $10.

I have looked for something like this everywhere and cannot find it. Does anyone know what this is or where to get it? I have seen stretchy resistance bands that go over doors for exercise, but not something like this that is strong and sturdy.

I have put a rebozo over a door and knotted it on either end and closed the door, as long as you make sure the knot is strong on the inside and that the women is not pulling in the direction the door opens, then she can support her weight with her arms, relax her legs, squat, and be upright. However, I think this would wear down my rebozo if I did that too much, and the Rope was sturdier.
Where can I find this? Anyone use something like this over a door?

It sounds like something my mom used to exercise with when I was a kid. I can ask her what the name is tomorrow (if she remembers!).

However, it ends up being almost $30 with shipping which is more than I thought. Maybe the easy old knotted rebozo over the door is still alright after all.

It seems silly, that something so small and essentially rope with handles is so overpriced!

Yeah, that does seem over priced for what it is. Maybe you could find it cheaper on e-bay, ar an exercise store near you.

Or buy a cheaper piece of cloth to use instead of your rebozo.
