Timing Contractions on-line
Some of you who are on the big doula list, might have seen this already, but for those who aren't, I thought I would share...
http://www.contractionmaster.com/
Families can time their contractions on-line with the push of a space bar... would help us if they did (for accuracy, maybe).

That made me laugh. I am just not that into timing contractions. I just kind of go by gut and an occasional glance at my watch. A fellow doula locally had a client who created a huge Excel spreadsheet showing each contractions begin time, end times, and graphing it all. The dad was writing up the formulas and playing with different ways of doing is as the mom labored. (The mom "had a feeling" he would be like that - that's why she insisted on a doula, LOL.)

Yep, I time a few when I first arrive at their house, then suggest everyone pay attention to the mom, not the clock. If they are able to sit at the computer, it's too early to be timing them anyways lol.

I don't really time them either but this is really neat! I could see some people using this.

Sounds like something my husband wanted to program! He made graphs and charts during my first labor... I told him if I even SAW graph paper emerge during this most recent labor that I'd kill him where he stood!!!
I do think this is a good tool to use if it's hard for someone to keep track otherwise... things can get fuzzy on the timeline sometimes!

I have a similar program for my palm pilot. I like it because everyone can focus on mom and I can easily (and discreetly) time ctx every now and then. That and it was free.
