herbs in hot packs
hi there! I have a hot pack that is made entirely of herbs and unfortunately I cannot get in touch with the woman who made it as a gift for me. Does anyone know how to make them with only herbs? or if you use rice or flax seed, what herbs do you put in them? I love mine because is smells like chamomile with a little bit of peppermint. I know I'll use the chamomile, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

I don't put any scents in them for the mother because you never know what "smells" she will or will not like while in labor.

Or what allergies she or her family, Dr, nurse, or midwife might have.
Lavendar gives me almost an instant migraine. To the point that I can't drive home if the smell is strong.

Oh, a smelly nice hot pack sounds DIVINE to me, but, as the other ladies said, it might not fly in labor...
However, having one cant hurt right, even if you only use it yourself?!
How do you heat it up? Microwave? (how else would you? I dont know, I'm a nincompoop when it comes to hot packs) I'd think that only herbs would be expensive. But, I'd just fill up a fabric tube with the herbs that I wanted and sew it... but agian, I've never made one and I'm going of of hypothetical-ness here.
Personally, I'd fill one up with lavendar because that really get me relaxed, or sage because it really helps my endo problems. But I like the chamomile/mint idea... sheesh.... in a perfect world, I'd have a ton with all different herbs in them!
I know that didnt help much...

(CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG) But, if you made a rice pack with just flax/rice/oats in it, couldn't you just drop a few drops of EO's on it if you wanted scent and fragrance?
I may be way off base here, aromatheraphy is NOT my strong suit (though I am thinking about changing that).

Well.. this particular pack would be for me or for sale, but I have heard that flax, rosemary, peppermint, and marjoram together smells really nice. As for pregnant women, I know that it makes some pregnant women sick so I plan to have one scented and one not. I will use flax seed though because rice smells really funny.

Do the drops of essential oil last as long as putting in dry herbs?
