Thanking a Volunteer
I had a volunteer doula who, in my opinion, went above and beyond. She was not assigned to any clients and so was not on-call. I was sick and was in no way going to be able to meet a client who was being induced. My other staff doula was helping another client. This volunteer got a phone call from me at 10:00 pm and graciously went to attend this client. The phone call was out of the blue and very unexpected. She even went to visit the client postpartum and made sure whe was being treated well in the hospital. I am so grateful because this first time mom may have been left without support if this volunteer had not stepped in. I really want to say thank you. Personal funds are tight right now but I want to do something nice. Any ideas?
