Hi ladies,

For those teaching childbirth education classes where do you teach out of?

Do you rent space?
Do you have your own location/office?

If you have your own location do you sub lease?
Do you have a storefront?

I am looking at offering some childbirth classes but I don't feel I have the space to do this out of my home.

Thanks.

I teach in a classroom at a local church. It has room to comfortably seat up to 8 couples, and the room is equipped with TV, DVD player, podium, counter and sink. Best of all, the room is free! I've also had offers from yoga studios to host my classes there, but my current set-up can't be beat!

Bottom line, ask around. Churches, community centers/rooms, yoga studios, natural-living retail shops, locally-owned bookstores--these are all examples of places that I've heard of renting to CBEs or, in some cases, offering space for free. Best wishes!

I teach at a birth center and use the space for free as well. The midwife considers it mutually beneficial and it keeps my costs low. The pp had some great suggestions - definitely ask around. Check out chiros, acupuncturists, yoga studios, birth centers or even (gasp!) doctor's offices.

Check out senior's centers or long term living housing. They often have a community center that has space, tv and chairs they may be willing to rent.
