Hello, my name is Glenda Furszyfer and I´m a Birth Doula and childbirth educator from Argentina, living in Mexico city. My childbirth classes provide expectant parents with the information and internal resources to cope with the challenges of labor, birth, breastfeeding, and parenting. The series of 10 classes are held weekly for 2 hours. They combine lecture, discussion, class exercises, body consciousness, relaxation techiques, visualizations, meditation, videos, a lecture by an OB and a pediatrician and a recent couple´s birth testimony. Covered topics include: beliefs about birth, discovering your hidden fears/fantasies of birth, the physical, emotional, and spiritual process of labor and birth, pain coping techniques, the role of fathers, routine procedures during birth, pros and cons, complications and how they are handled, cesarean birth, newborn care, the postpartum referrals to caring birth providers in Mexico. Spanish and English spoken.
Birth doula service (labor support) includes a prenatal appointment, support at home or hospital from active labor until some time after the baby is born, a follow up visit the following day after birth, breastfeeding and postpartum emotional support. :hbdoula
