Oh please don't get me started on this TSA bullshit...I have no kill switch!! And seeing this kind of crap just makes me even angrier at what US citizens must endure in the name of terrorism.

omg. what the hell is wrong with people.
ok, so in homeschool i am teaching my girls about the american revolution - our ancestors declared war on their own rulers over tea, and taxes. and we just blindly go along with this crap because it's making us safer? we are ok with personal liberties being completely trampled upon, even our own bodies being invaded? the govt and tsa need to pull their heads out and use technology in an intelligent way rather than simply coming up with more inane rules to hassle travelers, while probably missing the truly dangerous ones anyway.
and i'm a liberal! practically a communist really. i believe the govt is supposed to keep us safe. but this tsa and terrorism stuff is just stupid. i think the american people need to go on strike against airline travel. just bring it to a full stop. these "rules" would disappear overnight if we rebelled. of course hardly anyone cares enough to bother.

I can't stand that TSA stuff. Drives me nutsy and I'm . It won't be sugar going to Europe next month. I read the story and viewed the video some weeks ago (2?). She seemed really defensive and somewhat aggressive to me. I understand the anger, especially since she was tight on time (which is her fault) but she didn't have to react the way she did (pointing fingers etc). If it would have been me, I would have dumped the milk (and I know it's worth gold) trying to catch my "last minute flight".

Wow. I opted for a patdown in Paris and Boston instead of the scanner and I will say the US TSA was much more "intimate". It was weird.

She did get there in plenty of time for a reasonable search of her person and screening of her belongings, she had no way of knowing that she would be detained for so long. How do you plan for being detained in a box by unreasonable TSA agents who don't know their own screening procedures? And the point is that according to the TSA's own guidelines she should not have had to dump her milk at all. As far as her being angry, she was pretty calm and the finger pointing did not start to happen until she had been detained for 40 min and was missing her flight. The TSA was wrong shame, shame, shame on them.

The TSA was wrong shame, shame, shame on them. She got there about 45 min before the departure of the flight. I don't know if there is a reason why she came late but going through security 45 min before the flight is supposed to leave is NOT enough time considering there could always be some delay. I am not defending TSA because I think what they did was messed up big time, and those guys obviously don't know and play by their own rules. ETA: I was browsing TSA's website and was trying to find anything on bm being exempted from x-ray screening or not and I couldn't find anything. The only information I found that some items (bm included) were subject to additional screening.

I think it is a matter of principal. I wouldn't have dumped it. It's her right to have it, their "rules" allow it and it shouldn't be the moms fault that the agents do not know their own rules. BF is hard enough in todays culture without having this crap done to women.

Like I said....I do agree, I just would have reacted differently. I am still trying to find where is says that BM is exempted from the x-ray. Does anyone have any info? It would be very helpful. ETA: Googled again and found this: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/editorial_1059.shtmWhat I understand is that you can request alternate screening but that they don't have to do it and that it's up to them?
