I just saw this on yahoo!!!!! I am interested if anyone has heard more about it...or your thoughts on it. I believe co-sleeping has so many benefits, and as long as families are educated about safety precautions, it can and should be done by any parent who wants to. This ad is scaring people and providing a false view of co-sleeping

Yeah, never mind that this is the way humans - and all mammals- have evolved and mothered for years! Outrageous!

I've been seeing it go around FB. It annoys me, especially since I am a co-sleeping mom until they wean themselves. I still currently bed-share with my 19 month old. There is a right way and a wrong way to do it and they should be focusing on telling them the right way. Instead they are using lies and fear to parents.

this ads aren't really targeted to families who co-sleep as part of an overall parenting style. It is geared to those who do it and are on drugs or live an unhealthy lifestyle. It really has to be looked at from that perspective. It is not a bad campaign from that POV.

The ads send a false message about co-sleeping. I think if parents are responsible, then co-sleeping is a great thing. Co-sleeping also promotes successful breastfeeding.

Hi, I'm from Milwaukee.. Yes, you are right when you say that this is a campaign against co-sleeping. Milwaukee has a high rate of infant mortality, with 11 deaths this year related to co-sleeping with infants. However, in each case there were unsafe living conditions, extreme poverty, drug/alcohol/prescription meds involved that contributed to the deaths. Co-sleeping is safe for most infants, but in some cases a crib is the safest place.

I'm also from Milwaukee; and I second what neyamabirth said. I don't particularly like the ad, but we lose too many babies and something with a such a shock effect has more of chance of making families think twice about their decisions. In previous years we have had other Safe-Sleeping campaigns that haven't really had much of an effect.
