Host A FREEDOM FOR BIRTH Film Premiere - Thurs 20th Sept

One World Birth is spearheading the launch of our new
campaigning documentary film FREEDOM FOR BIRTH
with 1,000 premiere screenings worldwide on one single day.
That day is: THURSDAY 20th SEPTEMBER 2012
As the film features doulas, we would love all doulas who want to
help make change happen, wherever you are in the world,
to host one of the screenings.
There is no license fee. The organisers of the screenings are able to sell tickets and
any profits generated from hosting the screenings can go straight to the organisers.
And as you know, hosting a film screening is a great way to promote
the concept of doulas (and yourself) in your local area.
FREEDOM FOR BIRTH is a 50 minute documentary film raising awareness of how women's
basic human rights to decide where and how they give birth are being violated in many countries today.
As a consequence, many women are having medical interventions and c-sections they may not need.
Around the world, midwives are being persecuted and some even criminally prosecuted and imprisoned.
The film tells the story of the criminalised Hungarian midwife Agnes Gereb,
and features many of the world's leading birth experts including Ina May Gaskin,
Michel Odent, Sheila Kitzinger, Robbie Davis-Floyd plus dozens of academics,
obstetricians, midwives, educators, doulas, campaigners and heads of many international birth organisations.
