Blue sandstone is a very dark blue shade, nearly black, with the typical gold/bronze 'glitter' imbedded within the stone. A very lovely stone. When held up to the light, some of the chips are actually translucent and have a cobalt blue shade. We have natural sandstone in my neck of the woods, and although it's not blue, it is a lovely stone. Very soft and easily carved, usually found in large outcroppings near creeks or wooded lots. One of those things that reminds me of 'home'.
