Plancenta consumption during pregnancy

I new to the placenta world and want to know all I can possibly know. I know the main reason for consuming the placenta is to even out hormones right? Can you take it during the first part of pregnancy for morning sickness caused by hormonal imbalances? Or would that mess up the hormones for the growing babe?
