in chinese medicine everything has different qualities. alcohols aren't used super frequently as part of a usual TCM prescription (aside from in tinctures), and, as is common in most healing modalities they are usually only encouraged in very limited moderation. different alcohols do have different properties and qualities though. rice wine, not red or white wine, is probably the one that you are thinking of - its medicinal action is said to stimulate circulation, dispel cold and potentize the effect of herbal remedies. taking placenta capsules with white wine is kind of one of those obscure add-ons that a lot of placenta ladies have (probably inordinately) popularized but most american-educated TCM practitioners have either never heard of of don't think is very significant in benefit. here's a
