Hi Ladies! I am working on the Birth Doula certification with BAI and I also love the holistic feel and it's fit with my philosphy. I took a training workshop with another organization and began attending births right away. I have been a Birth Doula for ten years, but never felt the need to certify. The fact that many insurance companies now pay for Doula services, if you are certified has given me a reason. I am also kind of jumping around, reading the books and doing the assignments, but have not submitted any yet. I am happy to that this thread was started to be able to talk to other BAI students. I also plan to take the Herbal course in the future, as I have always had an interst and used herbs in my personal life.

Hi everyone!
I was just wondering if anyone has had any success in applying for one of the scholarships at BAI? I am in the process of deciding on a school to use and the chance at a scholarship for doing what I love would be amazing. I'm just curious to see if anyone else had applied and/or received one? The site says to just write Demetria (hi Demetria! I see you're a member!  ) a few paragraphs about my plans, so intend to do that soon!

Yes, Jessica, I've had success applying for one of the BAI scholarships. Demetria is GREAT. Write from the heart, write out your plans, and send it on in. She'll review it and make a decision. I know I couldn't have started my doula career without the scholarship I received from BAI, so I'm eternally grateful for this opportunity. You're gonna love it!!!
