Hello PP Doulas! A woman posted this long question on my Birth Doula Facebook page, and I personally do not have any clue what to tell her! I'm not a Mother myself, and her question has to do with the way an older sibling is reacting to a new baby and Mom's guilt. If any of you have an idea of what could help, your suggestions would be much appreciated.
Here is the question as written: " I am desperate for some mommy advice! I have a 4yr old & a 25 day old. Even tho the older child appears to be very much in love w/ his new sister and isnt being mean At all, Suddenly he is wetting his pants after being successfully potty trained for over two years now. Admittedly, we've been very couped up, no family near by & husband is military. I haven't gotten comfortable enough yet to leave the house w/ both of them & we live in Las Vegas so it is very hot & even playing in the backyard is really sucky! I'm attached to the baby alot due to aggressive breastfeeding to up my supply and it seems as tho I can't entertain him enough. I am guilt ridden. I could sleep better at night as the baby is progressing pretty well but instead I'm up w/ worry for my boy and sitting by his bedside just looking at him, kissing him & crying. I feel like I'm failing him. Has anyone else out there ever experiences this? Will it pass? Is this more common than I'm aware? I absolutely adore him, I don't want him to get lost in the shuffle. What can I do? Help! :'( "
(I am sorry if this is being posted in the wrong place, I thought maybe PP Doulas dealt more with this sort of counseling)

I had thought of maybe asking how long Dad has been gone, etc. But really want to hear what you ladies have to say first.

In your situation, because this was asked on your business FB page, I might post a status update like this:
"A former client needs some advice from fellow moms on what to do about her 4yo regressing. Please post any advice or suggestions for her on her post below!"
