I recently completed the CBC certification through CBI. I appreciated the additional lactation education that I received, but do not feel CBI did as good as a job teaching me the business side of things (as it did with my doula certification). And my many google searches have not been very generous in providing information.
A couple of my questions are:
What sort of things should I have in my contract?
What sort of forms do people use? My training prepared me not to use very many forms, but I like having an initial questionnaire available to help me know how to support a person better.
I have many more questions- and they pretty much revolve around the business aspect of things for lactation work.... are there any internet resources or books available to help CLC's or CBC's?
Getting clients has always come easy for me, and the only thing that is stopping me from getting started with lactation support outside of my normal doula client load is constructing a dynamic and functioning business model that works well with my doula services.
Thanks so much for any of your input.
