I was planning on signing up to volunteer with OSD, but thought I'd read I had to be certified. I am so excited I can do it after I do my workshop. I go Oct 1-3. I had my first 2 children when my husband and I were in Australia (he was in the Air Force). So even though my husband was there it was so hard being away from family and friends. I can't imagine how it would have been without him, so I look forward to helping military moms. :ustogether

Is there a need in the San Francisco Bay Area (I'm on the Peninsula, but willing to drive if needed!)?

You should have been given a certificate of attendance at the end of your training workshop. If you don't have that, then contact your instructor and either ask her for one or have her write up a letter stating that you trained under her along with the dates of your training. You should either send a copy of your Certificate of Attendance or the letter from your instructor along with your application. HTHs! I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I hadn't seen this message until now.

I registered last minute and turned in my study guide after the workshop and had a payment plan so I think, that's why it's taking so long.

Hi my name is Sandra Carreon and I am newly trained doula (DONA) and OSD volunteer and looking forward to being able to help out the military as I am a retired military spouse who has a real heart for helping those moms in the military who may be far away from home and especially those who have spouses serving and are away from home. I'd love to hear from other OSD volunteers in the Los Angeles area and make sure the word is out there those who need our services. I'd also like to hear from anyone who has information on how to get the word out there that I want to provide discount service for those who are not eligible for Operation Special Delivery. Has anyone created flyers or brochures that I could see?

Hi, everyone
I just wanted to pop on here to inform everyone that as of this past November, I resigned my positions of Assistant Director of OSD and of Regional Coordinator for OH, MI, and WV. I have enjoyed my time in those positions, but I have had one of those life "season changes" going on and so have decided to move on and to devote my time to some other things. I am remaining on as an OSD volunteer doula, however. I probably will no longer be able to answer OSD questions here in much detail as I will no longer be as much 'in the know' as I had been. Feel free to contact OSD at osd@cappa.net if you have questions or concerns that aren't being answered or addressed here.

I'm so excited to be getting involved in this program! It's such a great cause and also a wonderful way to get births!

I just finished my DONA training and am celebrating by filling out an Operation Special Delivery volunteer application. I'm very excited to help.

Is there a state coordinator for MD? If not I'd be interested in becoming one.
