lansingdoula@yahoo.comhttp://www.motherbirthdoula.comI see birth as a very powerful, life changing event not only because you are bringing a new baby into the world but also because of the emotional effects it can have on the birthing mother and her partner. Childbirth can be a very empowering experience if the mother has proper support and feels that she is informed and makes decisions about her care before, during and after the birth. As a doula, I will provide physical, emotional and informational support to both the birthing mother and her partner. It is my hope that through providing this support I can help the mother have a positive experience.
I do believe that women are made to give birth and that most often birth can be a totally natural process but I am also here to support women in whatever choices they make during childbirth.
My birth doula services include at least two prenatal appointments to get to know each other, work on a birth plan and discuss and practice various comfort measures that can be used during labor. Once it gets close to your due date I will be on-call 24 hours a day in order to accompany you when you are in labor. I can meet you at your home, the hospital or birth center in order to support you in early labor and then will continue to support you at your birth place throughout the birth of the baby and for at least the first hour or two postpartum. I will then visit within a few days of the birth and again a week or two later to make sure that you are adjusting well and so that we can discuss the birth.
If you are interested in finding out more about my services please contact me. I would love to meet with you to discuss what I can offer to you and what you are looking for in a doula.
