I was just wondering how many doula's know what their Myers Briggs personality type is? I've always found the test to be one of the best ones at getting a realistic picture of people.

I'm an ENFJ which is definitely me. I like what it says about being able to read people - sometimes I think that is half the reason I ended up being a doula. I like the fact that I can just look at a woman in labour and somehow know what she needs (well, most of the time! :D )

If you haven't done the test before, I found this link where you can do it for free and get some explanation.

Very interesting! I love personality tests. Lol. I just took it and am an INFP (introverted, intuitive, feeling, perceiving) a.k.a. a "healer". Pretty much every word of the description is true! Here's the part that applies to doulaing "Frequently they hear a call to go forth into the world and help others, a call they seem ready to answer, even if they must sacrifice their own comfort."

Since im just starting out as a doula i think it will be interesting to see what the results of the same test are a year or five down the road. Im sure my personality will change and grow...for the better. ;)

i'm ENTP - split pretty close between Introvert/Extrovert but really strong iNtuitive, Thinker, Perceiver. the ENTP "visionary" profile fits me pretty well - not perfectly but way better than the INTP. apparently its one of the rarer personality types!

i really like the meyers-briggs categories but i had a friend for a while who was OBSESSED with meyers-briggs and would run every person, conversation and interaction through the the m-b grid and analyze it to death!

When I have taken this I have always been an INTJ. With a very strong I, T and J and pretty close with the N/P.

As I've gotten older I have noticed the I gets stronger but the other stuff stayed pretty much the same.

just took one again and the t and the j were much weaker than I remembered. but the N was quite strong. I am over 90% introvert. Haha.

I took this test in 1997 when my dh was starting Air War College in the AF. It was a requirement for them and suggested for the spouse. I was an INTJ. Going to take it again and will post the results. :yep

My how I have changed.. I am now classified as a ESFJ. Interesting. Tells you how people change.... and I KNOW I've changed a lot since 1997. Being in school has changed me even more

Intriguing. Looking further into it I'm a 'guardian.' The description well fits my personality. Looking at the best jobs for a guardian nursing is right there.

These results are so interesting! I was thinking more people would end up falling under the "Idealist" options but it seems to be all over so far. I've made a poll so there's an easier way to see which way the results are going. It will be fun to see how things go over time as more people take the test. I couldn't add all the different individual types as the poll only allows up to 10 options and there are about 16 types - so for now it's just the groups.

thanks to everyone who has participated!
